How can I make the experience points system I am trying to envision work so that it saves the number of experience points that are gained, then adds that number to the new higher requirement of experience for the next level as in most RPG games? For example, upon adding five experience, the program errors out. What could I do better here? I tried to integrate a function to test it out too, so that it would be easier to give me assistance. Running this code gives the error 'positional argument is missing' if you are to run it. The idea I have with this game is essentially to run on calling a bunch of functions that I will make when I need them to, because I feel like it is pretty efficient for what I know. I feel like my problem has to do with me not fully understanding how the global variables work yet, as I just started using them, or if I should even use them to store data for this purpose. sudo apt install python3-distutils -> 'python3-distutils is already the.python3 -c 'import sysconfig' -> runs without complaint.I think my question is 'how to downgrade an RPi Zero W from Python 3.7 to 3.6 without breaking the environment (eg, pip)', but perhaps it's really 'how do I get pyaudio in 3.7', or 'is there an alternative to pyaudio'.

I've tried so many things (like update-alternatives) I'm probably a bit confused as to current state. Multiple angles of attack seem to run into distutils sysconfig (like when I tried virtualenv). ImportError: cannot import name 'sysconfig' Running 'pip3 install pyaudio' yields:ДЇile '/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/pip/_internal/locations.py', line 10, inДЇrom distutils import sysconfig as distutils_sysconfig I installed Python3.6 and changed the python3 symlink to point to it. This is a fixed purpose device so virtualenv is not needed (and I had issues trying it) and can't burden the Pi Zero with Anaconda. The RPi OS install includes 3.7 and I think all I want to do is downgrade to 3.6.

The Windows PC prototype runs but when deploying to the Pi there are issues with 'pyaudio' which does not have a Python3.7 wheel(?) for ARM, only Python3.6. I'm trying to run an FFT on a few high frequency bins of a continuous audio stream from a USB microphone input using a Raspberry Pi Zero W.
